Trust
October 29, 2026
In today’s digital economy, trust enables participation and drives business growth. At Mastercard, it’s our job to ensure that trust is felt every time you touch our brand, from the global reach of our network to the security embedded into every transaction to the protections that give people the confidence to pay and get paid, whenever, however they choose.
It’s that foundation of trust that remains our competitive advantage. It brings more participants and payment flows into the network and strengthens the value of our services. My experience leading international growth, together with my first 90 days as CFO, has reinforced how our trusted network model continues to differentiate Mastercard and creates value for customers, partners and the broader for the ecosystem.
As we reviewed our third-quarter performance earlier today, we highlighted how Mastercard is delivering for customers and investors and how the capabilities we’re building support long-term growth.
For 60 years, we’ve built a network that people, businesses and governments depend on to move value safely and securely in over 200-plus countries and territories. Today, more than 3.8 billion cards and credentials are used in more than 500 million acceptance locations and digital access points, supporting more than 175 billion transactions each year.
Today’s economy has more choices to move value than ever before. That’s where our recent acquisition of BVNK comes in. Together, we launched the Global Money Platform to help partners manage fiat currencies and stablecoins through one connected experience. Combining Mastercard Move with our global network enables access to more than 17 billion endpoints, supporting over 40 currencies, and extends card-issuing capabilities across 130-plus countries.
That same foundation is critical in the quickly growing space of agentic commerce.
We’re in the early phases of agentic commerce, as consumers move from discovery to buying. That’s why building trust at this stage is so critical. Merchants need to know when agents are verified and permissioned and consumers need confidence that they remain in control and their credentials are protected.
Our Agent Pay platform is rooted in the tokenization standard we developed over a decade ago, which is critical to digital wallets and shopping across all devices today. Building upon that, we’re bringing the same standards into agentic commerce by combining tokenization, digital identity and Verifiable Intent into payment flows.
Together, these capabilities help ensure agents act as permissioned, extend the protections consumers expect and give the broader ecosystem the confidence to participate.
But AI isn’t simply a consumer phenomenon.
We’re also applying those efforts to commercial payments through our Advanced B2B Analytics, helping enterprises identify supplier payments through AI-powered insights, optimize capital and accelerate virtual cards. By connecting those, we’re building a future where intelligence is embedded.
One lesson I carry is that progress rarely comes from technology alone. It comes from listening to our customers and partners, understanding what they need and bringing the right capabilities together.
Looking ahead, I’m energized by how we’re enabling commerce in all forms, from the in-person and e-commerce experiences today to the agentic and automated ones of tomorrow.
Our teams around the world bring that work to life, alongside the customer and partners who trust and build with us. Together, we’re opening new ways for people and businesses to participate, creating opportunities for growth and moving our mission forward.
