Did you hear that? Mastercard named best audio brand in 2020

Who is best harnessing the power of audio to shape consumer relationships with their brand? According to the list of the Best Audio Brands of 2020, released today, we’ve earned ourselves the top spot by connecting consumers with audible moments across an array of touchpoints. Since launching in 2019, the Mastercard Sonic Brand has brought to life our purpose in a new but visceral way, connecting human emotion and technology. However consumers engage across the globe, be it physical, digital or voice environments, the distinctive and memorable Mastercard melody provides simple, seamless familiarity.

“We started work on our sonic DNA journey three years ago,” says Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer. “It began with a melody, a sonic logo and a transaction sound, and this year it has evolved into music.” Our sonic brand is part of our larger initiative to create a more holistic relationship between consumers and Mastercard. This approach involves a number of the senses, and expanding our audible brand to work with global artists to create music was the next step in building our relationship with consumers.
