ryd launches ryd fleet in collaboration with Mastercard, a digital first payment operating system for European fleet operators

May 21, 2026 | Munich, Germany

ryd GmbH, a Munich-based mobility technology company, announced the launch of ryd fleet, a new digital-first payment operating system for fleets, in collaboration with Mastercard, designed to simplify on-the-road fleet payments while giving fleet managers enhanced control, visibility, and security.

ryd fleet combines ryd’s digital mobility platform with Mastercard’s global acceptance network and virtual card technology to offer a fully digital, tokenized fleet card.

Drivers can securely pay for fleet-related expenses across Europe wherever Mastercard is accepted, including fuel, charging, washing, and more, directly through the app on their smartphone or natively via the vehicle’s infotainment system. [1]

Receipts, odometer readings, and trip details can also be recorded directly within the app at the point of use. This helps to reduce paper receipts, separate statements, and manual checks, streamlining expense tracking, simplifying reconciliation, and maintaining accurate reporting while vehicles are on the road.

For fleet managers, ryd fleet provides greater control, visibility and security, helping reduce manual administration through automated processes, and capturing rich, near real time transaction data. Spend limits can also be set across categories at the driver or vehicle level, supporting more flexible and streamlined expense management while helping to optimise operational costs.

With the launch, ryd builds on the success of its consumer app, proven by more than one million users, expanding its technology across the European fleet business market, and establishing a new standard for digital mobility payments.

Florian Böhme, CEO of ryd says; The fleet and mobility industry is ready for a technological leap that supports greater efficiency, transparency, and control across their operations. In collaboration with Mastercard, we are accelerating this vision by replacing the physical fleet card with a fully digital platform consisting of the ryd fleet portal, the ryd app as well as in-car solutions designed for modern fleets. Alongside Oliver Götz, the founder of ryd, we are pursuing a clear goal: to consistently put fleet operators and their drivers at the center, and to establish ryd as the central standard for in-car payments in the era of software-defined vehicles.”

Backed by more than two decades of global fleet expertise, Mastercard offers a range of customized solutions, designed to support the evolving needs of fleet operators, from SMEs with smaller fleets to large logistics operators.

Tulsi Narayan, Head of Commercial and New Payment Flows, Europe at Mastercard says: “Fleet and mobility payments today are highly fragmented. By combining ryd’s digital platform with Mastercard’s global network and virtual card capabilities, we are helping deliver a more seamless, digitalfirst fleet experience across Europe, enabling fleet operators and managers to simplify payments, manage spend, and gain greater visibility into expenses. This supports our commitment to providing secure, scalable and data-rich solutions that evolve with the industry’s needs, helping businesses of all sizes operate and grow in increasingly complex environments.”
