With Mastercard, the French Red Cross continues the vaccination of vulnerable people against COVID-19
Monday, October 4th, 2021 - Brice van de Walle, General manager of Mastercard France, Jean-Christophe Combe, General Manager of the French Red Cross, and Roger Fontaine, President of the French Red Cross Territorial Delegation of Seine-Saint-Denis, were attended on Thursday, September 30, to present with Jean-Marc Agostinucci, Vice-President of the French Red Cross Territorial Delegation of Seine-Saint-Denis and National Administrator of the French Red Cross, the vaccination system set up for vulnerable people, and to visit the vaccination center of Sevran (93).
Since last June, the French Red Cross has been speeding up the vaccination of vulnerable people against COVID-19 thanks to the support of Mastercard. Since this summer, the French Red Cross teams have been going out to meet young people and the most vulnerable people throughout France to convince them of the importance of getting vaccinated and to give them easy access to the vaccine.
"Social inclusion is at the heart of our values. Inequalities unfortunately exist and the health crisis has highlighted them. The French Red Cross has developed a close relationship with vulnerable people. Thanks to this trust, it seemed obvious to us to offer our support. This allowed us to provide concrete help, directly on the ground, alongside the volunteers", reports Brice van de Walle, General Manager of Mastercard France.
"Thanks to Mastercard's exceptional support, the French Red Cross has been able to deploy new tailor-made systems. Since this summer, our teams have been reaching out to the most vulnerable people who are far from healthcare throughout France to convince them of the importance of getting vaccinated and to give them easy access to vaccinations. A good example of this is the mobile vaccination center set up a few months ago at the Seine Saint-Denis Departmental Delegation, which receives hundreds of people every day," says Jean-Christophe Combe, Director General of the French Red Cross.
Mastercard has always been committed to building a more connected and inclusive world. To support the recovery, Mastercard has been mobilized throughout the global health crisis through the Mastercard Impact Fund; through digital technology, provision of resources, innovative partnerships, and fundraising programs.
