Mastercard is working with Crédit Agricole Payment Services on a biometric card pilot for 200 customers in Touraine and Poitou, who will trial the card which features an integrated fingerprint sensor.
Cardholders will place their finger on the sensor to make secure and prompt contactless payments without the ceiling limit of 30 euros.
A better consumer experience
Mastercard is providing all the biometric specifications and relevant approvals for the pilot.
"We are delighted to partner with Crédit Agricole on this biometric card pilot in France. This is a great example of technological innovation enhancing the consumer experience and security," says Solveig Honoré Hatton, General Manager Mastercard France.
