Mastercard and Pepe Jeans team up to support the Red Cross

September 22, 2021 | By Gabriela Saltiel
  • Customers of Pepe Jeans London (All We Wear Group) have the chance of donating to the Red Cross when paying with a credit or debit card at stores in Spain and Portugal
  • The amount raised from consumer donations will be matched by both Mastercard and Pepe Jeans London
  • All funds raised will be donated to the Red Cross local chapters

Madrid/Lisbon, August 2021- The fashion group AWWG, Mastercard and the Red Cross have teamed up to launch a solidarity program with the aim of providing support to the most vulnerable. Through this initiative, consumers who pay for their purchase by card physically at Pepe Jeans London stores in Spain and Portugal can make a donation and contribute to supporting those affected by the pandemic.

This initiative has been launched in Spain and Portugal and will soon be extended to other markets such as Germany and France. This innovative donation method will be managed by Worldcoo, a social impact startup that develops and implements fundraising programs, and by Adyen through Adyen Giving's technology solution.

Mastercard and All We Wear Group pledge to match the value of consumer donations

In both markets, AWWG fashion group will be the first retailer to launch this program together with Mastercard. When consumers pay with their card, they are given the chance to choose the amount they wish to donate directly at the POS. All We Wear Group and Mastercard have committed to double the amount of total donations received from consumers.

The donations collected will be destined for the local Spanish and Portuguese Red Cross chapters, whose objective is to provide support to:

  • Those that, due to circumstances of illness, loneliness, old age, loss of employment, or who are in a situation of homelessness are doubly affected by this crisis and the situation of confinement experienced.
  • Families and friends of people in critical health condition (including those who are hospitalized or in isolation).
  • Those mourning relatives and loss due to COVID-19.
  • Volunteers who continuously collaborate with the Red Cross.
