Mastercard modernizes credit solutions for small businesses in Puerto Rico with new tools to operate, protect and grow

The enhanced Mastercard Business value proposition brings together cybersecurity, digital visibility, business guidance and travel-related protections to help SMEs operate with greater confidence.

Mastercard today announced the launch of its modernized credit value proposition for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Puerto Rico, introducing a refreshed set of benefits designed to help business owners operate more efficiently, protect what they have built and unlock new growth opportunities.

The launch comes as Puerto Rico’s SME ecosystem continues to accelerate its digital transformation. Mastercard research found that 68% of SMEs in Puerto Rico rely on digital payments to pay suppliers, while 81% value security features when choosing a digital payments provider.

Available through eligible Mastercard Business cards, the modernized value proposition focuses on four areas that are increasingly important for small businesses: protection, digital presence, business support and travel-related peace of mind. Benefits include ID Theft Protection for SMEs; Digital Presence Optimizer by BeeDigital; reimbursement for LinkedIn Business Premium membership; remote legal and tax orientation; and travel-related protections for covered situations such as missed connections, delayed or canceled trips, baggage incidents and hotel burglary.

Security, visibility and support for a more digital economy

As small businesses adopt more digital tools, protecting business and personal information becomes increasingly important. The enhanced offering incorporates ID Theft Protection for SMEs, helping eligible cardholders monitor for compromised information, receive alerts and access support resources if an identity-related incident occurs.

The proposition also supports digital and professional visibility through Digital Presence Optimizer by BeeDigital and reimbursement for LinkedIn Business Premium membership, helping business owners strengthen their online presence, expand their network, improve prospecting and access tools that may support commercial development.

In addition, the offering provides remote legal and tax orientation, giving entrepreneurs access to practical guidance as they manage business obligations, contracts, tax considerations and other operational needs.
