Madrid, October 5 2021. Banco Sabadell, committed to a more sustainable economy and improving the planet, announces that it will join Mastercard's global Priceless Planet Coalition project with the goal of restoring 100,000 trees by 2025. Banco Sabadell becomes the first bank to join this coalition in Spain.

Launched in January 2020 by Mastercard, Priceless Planet Coalition (PPC) unites the efforts of companies, financial institutions, local authorities and consumers to fight climate change by planting 100 million trees over five years, with the help of forestry and climate change expert organizations such as Conservation International (CI) and the World Resources Institute (WRI). In many regions, PPC partners are launching campaigns to engage with consumers and help them take action for the environment and reforestation through innovative fundraising technologies.

“We are joining Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition, a relevant commitment, to restore the most needed areas of the planet and to join efforts to mitigate climate change and to achieve a positive impact in our planet in cooperation with all its partners”, said Ana Ribalta, Deputy General Director & Sustainibility Director at Banco Sabadell.

According to Paloma Real, Country Manager of Mastercard Spain: "We are excited that Banco Sabadell will be our first partner in Spain to join our Planet Priceless Coalition. We are proud of sharing with this great entity the desire to look after our planet and fight against climate change. Mastercard has always been committed to building a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy in which people, communities and the planet can thrive."
