Mastercard and Citi Partner with Local F&B and Hospitality Groups to Elevate National Day Fireworks Dining Experience

August 21, 2025 | Hong Kong
Exclusive campaign offers cardholders priority access to the best harbour-view seats, supporting Hong Kong’s F&B and hospitality industry while celebrating local culture

Mastercard today announced its partnership with Citi and five renowned local F&B and hospitality groups – 1957 & Co. (Hospitality) Limited, Island Shangri-La, LUBUDS Group, Regent Hong Kong and The Food Story Hong Kong Limited. Through this collaboration, Citi Mastercard cardholders can enjoy exclusive access to prime viewing spots for the spectacular National Day Fireworks Display over Victoria Harbour at selected harbour-front restaurants on October 1.

Underpinned by the growing consumer demand for unique experiences, especially among the affluent segment, the campaign highlights Mastercard and Citi’s commitment to revitalizing Hong Kong’s F&B industry. New Mastercard research reveals that nearly 75 percent of cardholders say they feel their best when spending time on their passions, including culinary exploration, artistic endeavors and cultural immersion1. While this shift towards experiences holds true for all demographics, it’s especially apparent among the top 30 percent of earners, who spend more than twice the average cardholder2.

Starting August 25, eligible Citi Mastercard cardholders can enjoy exclusive pre-booking privileges at 13 participating restaurants, featuring a diverse range of cuisines such as authentic Cantonese, Western, Japanese and French (see appendix below for restaurant details). Curated by the five renowned local F&B and hospitality groups, these dining experiences combine a culinary feast with stunning harbour-front views, transforming the beloved fireworks tradition into a rich cultural celebration. The priority booking process will be rolled out in two phases:

Helena Chen, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Hong Kong and Macau, Mastercard, said, “Consumers today are prioritizing experiences with loved ones over material things. Tapping into this sentiment, Mastercard is delighted to serve as an enabler in bringing together Citi and local F&B and hospitality groups to offer Citi Mastercard cardholders a memorable culinary experience. This partnership reimagines the essence of a priceless experience by combining premium dining opportunities with the spectacle of fireworks. Beyond creating unforgettable moments for Citi Mastercard cardholders, this initiative also supports the local F&B industry and helps to rejuvenate the city’s hospitality sector, further underscoring Mastercard’s dedication to celebrating and strengthening Hong Kong’s vibrant culture and economy.”

Vicky Kong, Head of Wealth, Asia North and Australia, Citi, said, “At Citi, we have observed a strong and growing demand for premium dining experiences among our cardholders, especially our affluent Citi Prestige and Citi ULTIMA members. Dining remains one of the largest spending categories, with notable growth in the first half of 2025. This sustained appetite for high-end dining underpins our partnership with Mastercard to offer an exclusive National Day Fireworks dining experience. It's not just an unforgettable evening for our customers; it's also a meaningful way to support Hong Kong's vibrant food and beverage industry.”
