Mastercard runs a range of promotions throughout the year to reward cardholders. We recognise that scammers may attempt to impersonate legitimate brands, so we want to help you understand how we communicate with prize winners and what information we will – and will not – ask for.

How Mastercard will contact prize winners

Mastercard works with trusted agencies to administer promotions and fulfil prizes on our behalf.

If you are selected as a prize winner of a promotion within the United Kingdom, your first communication will be by email from an authorised Mastercard fulfilment partner using an official company email address:

• @octagon.com

• @omc.com

• @ogilvy.com

The email will provide information about the promotion and any next steps required to verify eligibility or arrange prize fulfilment. 

As a general rule, you should not expect to receive an unsolicited phone call about a Mastercard promotion. If further contact is required, it will normally be arranged following the initial email communication and will relate only to the administration or fulfilment of your prize.

If you receive an unexpected phone call claiming to be from Mastercard or one of our fulfilment partners and have not previously received an email from an official domain regarding that promotion, do not share any personal or financial information.

Information we may request

Mastercard card details are required for registration to priceless.com, including access to Sweepstakes. Priceless.com is a Mastercard-operated website and card details are used solely to verify that consumers hold a valid Mastercard card and are eligible to access exclusive content on priceless.com.

To fulfil a prize or confirm eligibility, we may ask you to provide or confirm:

• Your postal address (to deliver your prize)

• Your date of birth (to confirm eligibility to enter the promotion) 

• Your email address and/or telephone number (for prize-related communications)

• Valid identification (where required for event attendance or age verification)

   

Information we will never ask for

Outside of the secure priceless.com registration process, Mastercard and its authorised fulfilment partners will never ask you to provide:

• Your full card number

• The first 6 digits of your Mastercard card (BIN) or any other card details

• Your card security code (CVV/CVC)

• Your card expiry date 

• Online banking credentials or passwords

• One-time passcodes (OTPs) or authentication codes

• Any payment or fee to claim a prize

If anyone requests any of the above information while claiming to represent Mastercard or one of our promotion partners, do not provide it and contact us immediately via our social channels listed below.

Staying vigilant

Legitimate prize notifications will clearly reference the promotion you entered and will only request information necessary to verify eligibility and fulfil your prize. Mastercard and its authorised partners will not pressure you to act immediately, make a payment, or disclose sensitive financial information.

If you receive any communication that seems suspicious or inconsistent with the guidance above, please verify it through our official channels before responding.
