Our executive leadership
Mastercard Payment Gateway Services is a part of the global Mastercard company and is lead by a team of industry recognized payment professionals.
Andrea Scerch – President
Andrea Scerch is the President of Mastercard Processing Services, which includes three business lines: Payment Gateway Services through which Mastercard enables merchants to accept digital payments across multiple channels, brands, and markets; Payment Transaction Services – the company’s technology provider that helps issuers and acquirers process payments; and Prepaid Management Services which acts as an end-to-end program manager that delivers prepaid programs backed by Mastercard’s safety, security and acceptance.
He also sits on Mastercard’s Management Committee.
Prior to this role, Mr. Scerch led Mastercard Payment Gateway Services where he was instrumental in transforming the business into a successful global business with a strong growth trajectory. In this capacity, he also spearheaded the integration of multiple businesses, including Transaction Network Services which was acquired in 2014.
Mr. Scerch joined Mastercard in 2005 as the Head of Strategy for Europe before assuming the role of Division President for Central Europe markets (Italy, Alpine, Greece and Germany). Under his leadership, the company strengthened its position across the region, achieved strong growth, and successfully deployed new payment technology in the markets.
Before joining Mastercard, Mr. Scerch was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company in Italy, where he worked with large pan European retail banks leading strategic projects on key business topics. Prior to that, Mr Scerch was a Financial Analyst with Consob, Capital Markets Divisions in Milan, and a Senior Auditor with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Rome, Italy.
Mr. Scerch holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and has a degree in Economics and Business Administration, from La Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
Davide Messina - Senior Vice President, Commercial
Davide moved into the payment services organization of Mastercard in September 2014. In his role he holds responsibility for business development in the regions named above. Starting at Mastercard in 2003, Davide has held a variety of roles during his Mastercard career, originally as a National Key Account Manager and most recently (prior to current) General Manager for Mastercard Global Strategic Alliance. Prior to joining Mastercard, Davide worked at Sara Lee, the American consumer products corporation and before that spent 8 years with Renault Italy.
Davide graduated with honors in Economic studies at the University of Rome La Sapienza.
Mitch Ferro - Senior Vice President, Product Management
Mitch and his team are responsible for developing and defining world-class payment solutions to meet expanding customer needs, working closely with all areas of business within Mastercard Payment Gateway Services. Mitch joined the company in January 2015, having previously led the Global Product Management team at TNS (Transaction Network Services). During this previous role, he oversaw the development of TNS’ payment processing services which now forms part of Mastercard Payment Gateway Services. With over 25 years experience working in the technology sector, Mitch has gained extensive experience building and leading products teams in this industry.
Mitch holds a Master’s degree in Information Networking and a BSc in Electrical Engineering.
Jean Marc Peters - Senior Vice President, Finance
Jean Marc is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, decision support, customer business agreements, pricing analysis and Treasury and Tax for the group. Before his current role, Jean Marc held several roles within Mastercard located in Waterloo, Belgium and Purchase, NY, USA. Prior to joining Mastercard, Jean Marc held various positions on the trading floors of international banks ING and Bank of America.
Jean Marc has a Masters of Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and an MBA in Finance from the Hagan School of Business in New Rochelle, NY, USA.
Joe Narsh - Senior Vice President - Head of Operations & Technology Payment Services
Joe serves as the Operations and Technology Lead for the Mastercard Payment Gateway Services business unit. The global organization he oversees is responsible for software engineering, continuous IT Operations and Customer Operations.
Through his leadership, Joe is responsible for achieving the “best in class” standards in terms of security, effectiveness and efficiency while driving the transformation roadmap with the goal of supporting the business global expansion strategy.
Joe has held several other technical leadership positions across Mastercard including managing technical customer implementation activities for Mastercard products and services to overseeing mission-critical services and technical strategic planning for the company’s Internet properties, Fraud products, and the Mastercard User Experience Group.
Before joining Mastercard in 2001, he held various leadership positions in Commercial Markets at AT&T Solutions that spanned from systems architecture to managing customer relationships and AT&T Labs staff. He has built a successful career through a variety of assignments and leadership positions in the United States Marine Corps, including systems architecture and engineering roles.
In addition to his extensive background in telecommunications and project delivery, he is also involved with the Project Management Institute, IEEE and various IT forums. Joe also serves on the Board of Directors for the First Tee of Greater St Louis.
