Sachin Mehra is the chief business officer for Mastercard and is a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team and Management Committee.
As chief business officer, Sachin is responsible for operations and innovation in each of the 200-plus global markets where Mastercard operates and has staff. This includes engagement with and execution of the company’s strategy through various stakeholders, including customers, governments, regulators, partners, employees and local communities. He also has oversight of the company’s sales excellence efforts.
Prior to taking this role, he served as chief financial officer for more than seven years. In that role, as well as others within the finance organization, Sachin was instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and transformation efforts. Following his tenure as corporate treasurer and then as a regional finance officer, he developed and executed the company’s commercial products (B2B) strategy, managing the product portfolio and deepening customer relationships.
Prior to Mastercard, Sachin held senior treasury and finance roles at Hess Corporation, General Motors and GMAC in New York, Singapore, Belgium and Shanghai. He started his career at General Motors in its New York Treasurers Office.
Sachin currently sits on the board of Salesforce. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia and received his undergraduate degree in commerce from Sydenham College at the University of Mumbai, India.
