Raghav Prasad – President

In his role as president of Mastercard Payment Gateway Services, Raghav is responsible for the strategic direction and global end-to-end management of this business.

Raghav joined Mastercard in 2014 as General Manager (Gulf Countries); responsible for all aspects of Mastercard’s business in the region, including business strategy sales, business development and relationships with card issuers, acquirers, merchants and regulators.

Before joining Mastercard, Mr. Prasad set up and ran a boutique consulting firm that supported retail banking clients in the MEA geography. Prior to that, he spent six years at RBS in the UK, first as Managing Director Global Commercial Cards and then as Managing Director of Global Merchant Services (WorldPay). During this time he was also a member of the global management committee of the Transaction Banking Group at RBS. Mr. Prasad came to RBS from Citibank, where he spent nineteen years running Cards, Retail Banking and Wealth Management businesses in the US, UK, Asia and North Africa. These roles included Global Product Lead for Core Products, Head of Cards Acquisition & Portfolio Management for EMEA, and, Country Business Manager for Egypt. He also served on the Global Advisory Board of Commercial Payments International for a number of years.

Born in India, Mr. Prasad has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, specializing in Marketing and Finance, and, a First Class Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delhi.


Davide Messina - Senior Vice President, Commercial, Middle East & Africa and Asia Pacific.

Davide moved into the payment services organization of Mastercard in September 2014. In his role he holds responsibility for business development in the regions named above. Starting at Mastercard in 2003, Davide has held a variety of roles during his Mastercard career, originally as a National Key Account Manager and most recently (prior to current) General Manager for Mastercard Global Strategic Alliance. Prior to joining Mastercard, Davide worked in Sara Lee, the American consumer products corporation and before that spent 8 years with Renault Italy.

Davide graduated with honors in Economic studies at the University of Rome La Sapienza.



Mitch Ferro - Senior Vice President, Product Management

Mitch and his team are responsible for developing and defining world-class payment solutions to meet expanding customer needs, working closely with all areas of business within Mastercard Payment Gateway Services. Mitch joined the company in January 2015, having previously led the Global Product Management team at TNS (Transaction Network Services); during this previous role, he oversaw the development of TNS’ payment processing services which now forms part of Mastercard Payment Gateway Services. With over 25 years’ experience working in the technology sector, Mitch has gained extensive experience building and leading products teams in this industry.

Mitch holds a Master’s degree in Information Networking and a BSc in Electrical Engineering.



Hemal Parekh - Senior Managing Counsel, Global Processing

As Head of Legal at Mastercard Payment Gateway Services, Hemal has responsibility for all legal and compliance aspects of the group’s activities. Before his current role within Mastercard, Hemal was a Head of Legal for Mastercard Prepaid Management Services for 6 years. Prior to his time at Mastercard, Hemal spent 6 years at Travelex, and 7 years as a solicitor at Hewitsons.

Hemal has a law degree from the University of Exeter and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School.



Jean Marc Peters - Senior Vice President, Finance

Jean Marc is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, decision support, customer business agreements, pricing analysis and Treasury and Tax for the group. Before his current role, Jean Marc held several roles within Mastercard located in Waterloo, Belgium and Purchase, NY, USA. Prior to joining Mastercard, Jean Marc held various positions on the trading floors of international banks ING and Bank of America.

Jean Marc has a Masters of Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and an MBA in Finance from the Hagan School of Business in New Rochelle, NY, USA.



Luigi Zanghellini - Senior Vice President - Head of Operations & Technology Payment Services

Luigi is the Operations and Technology Lead for the Mastercard Payment Gateway Services business unit. His global organization is responsible for software engineering, 24/7 IT Operations and Customer Operations.

In his role Luigi is accountable for achieving the “best in class” standards in terms of security, effectiveness and efficiency while driving the transformation roadmap with the goal of supporting the business global expansion strategy.

Prior to joining Mastercard in July 2015, Luigi worked for 15 years in Accenture where he was an executive in the strategy team. At Accenture Luigi collaborated with some of the leading and most prestigious institutions in the financial services industry, including large universal banks, payments service providers, insurance companies and exchanges.

Luigi has advised clients across Europe, US and Asia, with projects in UK, Netherland, Italy, Greece, Poland, Russia, Australia and US. In Accenture Luigi acquired broad FS strategy experience including industry analysis, organization analysis and modeling, business case definition, operating model definition and transformation and post-merger integration. Luigi’s area of expertise is payments.

Luigi has a degree in Finance from the University of Plymouth and a masters in business studies and economics from Universita degli Studi di Trento.



Carly Smith - Vice President, Marketing

Carly is responsible for all B2B product marketing and communications activities for Mastercard Payment Gateway Services.

Ms. Smith has been part of this team for over 10 years, joining this group via the Mastercard acquisition of DataCash in 2010.

Prior to her time at Mastercard Carly worked within the Marketing and Business Development area of global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer.

Carly has a degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communications from the University of Central Lancashire.
