Maria Tascheva focuses on the Global South alliances and development institutions shaping regional payment architectures, settlement frameworks, policy environment for cross-border payments and financial interoperability. She leads development of the bloc-level public policy strategy and multilateral engagements across BRICS, SCO, GCC, and ADB.
Maria has 30 years of experience in public policy and government affairs both in the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Mastercard, she led the business operations, investment and regulatory policy advocacy for the US multinationals in telecom and pharma in the high-growth European and Asian markets.
