Global Diversity and Inclusion Council

The stature of MasterCard Worldwide's Global Diversity and Inclusion Council (GDIC) reflects the value the company attaches to diversity. The Supplier Diversity Program at MasterCard is just one element of our broader strategy to address diversity, which we define as a concept that extends beyond gender, ethnicity and age to include different thoughts, skills, experiences and backgrounds. As such, we believe diversity represents the root of the insight needed to develop innovative solutions to our customer's evolving payment needs.

Overseeing the execution of this strategy is the task of our Global Diversity and Inclusion Council (GDIC). Chaired by our Chief Executive Officer, this body acts as essentially a board of directors that provides direction to our Global Diversity Office to ensure the principles of diversity are embedded throughout the organization.

The GDIC's members are drawn from all of the company’s business regions: North America; Latin America/Caribbean; Europe; and Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa. They regularly evaluate different programs, partnerships and other proposals that are presented as potential means of enhancing shareholder value.
