New and forthcoming trends in payments, e-commerce, digital, security, and technologies took center stage at the second edition of the Mastercard MENA Leadership Forum held on March 5 in Paris, France, under the theme, ‘Partnering for Success, Future-Proofing Growth.’

Hosted by Mastercard, a leading technology company in the global payments industry, the forum brought together nearly 70 senior leaders from top banks in the region and Mastercard to explore new areas of collaboration to further drive innovation in payments, and identify opportunities for growth. Featuring a stellar line-up of speakers, the global thought leadership platform shed light on how digital revolution is impacting all aspects of the wider financial industry.

“In a world of accelerating change, businesses across industries are constantly impacted by the evolving needs of the market. With changing purchasing behavior and preferences, new sets of consumers are emerging. In addition, while the regulatory environment continues to undergo reforms, the payments security landscape is growing bigger by the day,” said Khalid Elgibali, Division President, Middle East and North Africa, Mastercard.

“While the more pronounced impact is felt in the banking and financial services industry, technology and innovation offer us solutions to overcome these challenges and capitalize on the opportunities. The various discussions at the Mastercard MENA Leadership Forum brought to the fore a number of common themes, including a greater need for partnership and innovation to drive critical change in the industry,” he added.

In addition to the insightful sessions, Mastercard’s banking partners were recognized for their efforts in  driving innovations in payments technology in their respective markets across twelve award categories focusing on products and solutions, safety and security, loyalty and marketing programs, and more.
