Women everywhere are the pillar of our families and communities. A glance at cultures and societies around the world reveals an unfortunate truth: women can also be marginalized. Though the struggle for women’s rights has made great progress around the globe, there is work still to be done in giving women the voices and opportunities they deserve. In collaboration with UN Women Singapore, MasterCard created Project Inspire to empower individuals around the world to share their ideas, be heard, and make a difference in changing the world. To do so, Project Inspire gives anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 a five-minute platform from which they can pitch ideas for a chance to win a US$25,000 grant to create a better world of opportunities for women and girls in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region. Ultimately, we hope to give youths the opportunity not only to share their ideas, but also turn them into reality.
