Online shopping has rapidly become a significant form of commerce in the Asia-Pacific region, with 63% of survey respondents reporting that they conduct it, at least occasionally.
This report examines e-commerce trends and identifies the drivers and barriers to online purchases in key markets in the region. Both consumer behavior in relation to e-commerce, and e-commerce outlook in the region are analyzed. The role of the credit card in e-commerce and how it facilitates opportunistic spending in the online shopping regime is also examined. Both desktop research and an online survey were used in preparing this report.
