MasterCard and MULTOS Launch Road Show to Share Insights on the Latest in Innovative Chip Card Solutions

Singapore, August 14, 2007 - MasterCard Worldwide in collaboration with The Multos Consortium today announced the launch of a Road Show in Macau and Manila. The Road Show will focus on the benefits of migrating to chip with an open standard operating system (OS) and advanced chip solutions that will allow customer financial institutions to offer new, better business propositions that would sharply differentiate their offerings to cardholders.

The MasterCard Asia/Pacific 2007 Multos Road Show will be held in Macau on 21 August 2007 and Manila on 23 August 2007. MasterCard and Multos executives will be present to shed light on the technology choices available for customers who are looking to harness the power of chip. The one-day event will also provide MasterCard customer financial institutions with an opportunity to hear from senior representatives of MasterCard issuers based in Europe that have successfully introduced a range of new MasterCard® OneSmart™ payment products based on the MULTOS operating system.

“Chip migration is growing rapidly in many markets in Asia/Pacific; therefore we felt it was critical to join forces with MasterCard to host a road show,” said Tim France-Massey, Business Advisory Group Chairman, The Multos Consortium. “We believe that as the global shift to chip continues to take place it is critical for financial institutions to leverage existing and market-proven chip card solutions. We strongly encourage banks to attend the sessions in order to gain insights on how they can leverage their investment in EMV chip to build market share, identify new revenue streams, and gain a competitive advantage.”

“We are committed to working closely with our customers to define their unique business requirements and goals, and design a custom-tailored smart card strategy that meets their needs,” said Shuan Ghaidan, head of product sales and delivery, Asia/Pacific, MasterCard Worldwide. “Our added-value OneSmart packages are designed to help our customers grow their business through improved customer acquisition and retention, card activation and usage, as well as innovation.
