    The program’s goal is to promote innovative strategies that help underserved youth achieve success in school, prepare for the transition from school to career, and understand and use technology to further their opportunities.

    The MasterCard Youth Education & Technology Fund The MasterCard Youth Education & Technology Fund is an annual competitive grant program which supports youth education in the local communities surrounding the organization’s global corporate headquarters in Purchase, New York, awarding ten $10,000 grants in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and ten $10,000 grants in Westchester County, New York.

    The program’s goal is to promote innovative strategies that help underserved youth achieve success in school, prepare for the transition from school to career, and understand and use technology to further their opportunities.

    Eligible Grant Requests

    Educational programs directly related to children and youth, including, but not limited to:

    • Programs that encourage youth to stay in school and achieve academic excellence
    • After-school programs for at-risk youth
    • Literacy
    • Mentoring and peer counseling

    Programs that use technology to benefit youth, including, but not limited to:

    • Computer literacy programs
    • Technology development within communities
    • After-school programs for at-risk youth

    The target population served is kindergarten through high school, and priority is given to programs with a strong underserved youth outreach component.

    Eligible Organizations

    • Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations delivering youth education and technology programs.
    • Nonprofits must be based in Westchester County, New York, or Fairfield County, Connecticut. (Note: Local chapters/divisions of national organizations will be considered only if all of the funds stay in the designated county.)
    • Nonprofits must conduct and deliver the programs to youth located within the designated counties.
    • Previous MasterCard Youth Education & Technology Fund grant recipients are eligible to apply for a grant or grant renewal under this program, unless the organization has received funding for three consecutive years. (Please note: Eligible grant renewal requests will be influenced by the demonstrated results of the previous year’s grant and performance.)
    • Organizations that have been funded through this program for three consecutive years are not eligible and must wait one year before reapplying.
