Diversity

Each employee offers different strengths, views, and experiences. These very differences create opportunities for growth, innovation, and success.

Today’s winning companies hire the best people they can find—smart, talented people who appreciate and understand unique customer needs; who connect with coworkers and customers; and who see the future in perceptive, innovative ways. At MasterCard, we aim to understand, respect and value the differences and similarities of all employees.

We define diversity from a multidimensional perspective that encompasses our diverse skills, knowledge, viewpoints, culture, and national origins. That’s why we are committed to creating a high-performance culture that embraces and leverages our total diversity.

MasterCard Cultivates Relationships Around the World

For over three decades, we have carefully nurtured an impressive array of relationships.

Our goal is to excel at understanding the complex, constantly changing dynamics of the global marketplace and the payment needs of MasterCard members and their cardholders and merchants. Each employee offers different strengths, views, and experiences. These very differences create opportunities for growth, innovation, and success.

Ultimately, MasterCard is successful only to the degree in which our employees are successful. Creating an inspiring work environment—one that affords each person the opportunity to contribute fully to the company’s business goals and objectives—is a commitment we are proud of.

Global Diversity and Inclusion Council (GDIC)

The Global Diversity and Inclusion Council was created to help management drive the agenda for change and guide the implementation of the Global Diversity and Inclusion vision and strategy. The GDIC, which meets on a quarterly basis, is comprised of senior leaders from each of our global business units and regions and is chaired by our CEO, Robert W. Selander. A key role for GDIC members is to serve as ambassadors of the diversity vision and strategy via ongoing communication and regular business activity.
