To find the NAICS code for your product, visit http://www.census.gov/epcd/www/naics.html For the Department of Defense (DoD), you will also want to know your Federal Supply Class or Service code (FSC), which you can find by visiting http://www.drms.dla.mil/htbin/fscsearch.pl Once you have determined the code or codes that best correspond to your product or service, you can use it to conduct online searches at the websites of many federal agency procurement offices for current solicitations and in many cases, recent contract awards. State governments use a variety of codes to classify products. Some use the NAICS or its predecessor, the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code, but also very common is the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) code. |
