Terms & Conditions for the "Win 1 of 50 Gastronomic and Spa Breaks" promotion

 

  1. Our draw is open to MasterCard cardholders, who are 18 and over, and reside in the UK. No employees of MasterCard, its group companies, their agents, or any company associated with the promotion are eligible to enter.
  2. To enter use your MasterCard credit card for any purchases between 01/06/09 - 31/07/09 inclusive (the "Promotional Period") and enter your details on www.mastercard.co.uk/win after which you will be entered into the prize draw. [One entry only per card holder after making any purchase. Maximum one entry per person]
  3. If you are a resident in Northern Ireland, no purchase necessary, for an equal chance of winning, please send a postcard entitled No Purchase Route, address to MasterCard Gastro and Spa Promotion to PO BOX 31586, London W114YB. Only individual stamped and posted postcards permitted one entry per customer only.
  4. Incomplete, illegal, misdirected or late entries will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. MasterCard takes no responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.
  5. Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.
  6. Entries must be received on or before 31/07/09. The prize draw will take place on 07/08/09. This date is fixed and will not be changed unless circumstances outside our reasonable control make it unavoidable.
  7. The first 50 entries drawn at random will be able to choose 1 of 10 Gastro and Spa Breaks as their prize. Each break is for two people and includes all travel, accommodation throughout their stay, use of hotel facilities and a meal at the restaurant of their choice. Prizes have to be taken by 31/05/10 and exclude all bank holidays. For prizes with destinations outside of the UK, round-trip economy flights from London and travel insurance are included. Prizes based in the UK do not include travel insurance.
  8. The winner and companion will be responsible for any necessary travel permits, entry visas and inoculations. All travel, accommodation and other products and services provided to the prize winners and companions will be provided subject to the terms and conditions of each such provider. Neither MasterCard nor its agents will have any liability in relation thereto, and any dispute arising from travel, accommodation or services must be taken up with such providers.
  9. The promoter will not be held responsible for the prize winner and/or companion not taking advantage of the prize due to health or any other reason.

  11. The draw will be made under the supervision of an independent adjudicator. The winner will be notified in writing within 28 days of the draw date.
  12. The prize is as stated and there are no alternative prizes or cash substitutes. The prize cannot be sold or transferred in any manner.
  13. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. The winner and his/her companions agree to participate in publicity accompanying or resulting from the promotion. No additional compensation will be awarded for such promotional activities.
  15. If a prize is declined or if a winner forfeits the prize under these terms and conditions, then the Promoter may at its absolute discretion draw an alternative winner.
  16. Details of the winners will be available by sending a S.A.E. to MasterCard Gastro and Spa Promotion, PO Box 31586, London, W11 4YB within 6 weeks of the draw date.
  17. The Promoter reserves the rights to vary these terms and conditions or cancel the prize draw at any stage in the event of circumstances arising beyond its control.
  18. Entrants must read and accept the terms and conditions and privacy statement to be eligible.
  19. By entering the prize draw, entrants will be deemed to be bound by and have accepted the terms and conditions.
  20. English Law applies and the English courts will have jurisdiction over any proceedings in connection with this promotion.
  21. Entrants' personal data are processed by MasterCard the Promoter, the controller of your personal data, and also by the Promoter's agency involved in administering the Promotion. Entrants' personal data shall be processed for the purpose of your participation in the Promotion only and will only be retained as long as necessary for such purpose (i.e. until 3 months after the end of the Promotion). Entrants can request access to and/or rectification of their personal data if incorrect. For these purposes entrants can contact the Promoter at the below address or by e-mailing privacy_europe@mastercard.com. By participating to the Promotion, entrants consent that their personal data may, for the same purpose as stated above, also be transferred to other entities of the MasterCard group of companies based in countries that, according to EU principles, do not provide an adequate level of protection of personal data and to Promoter third party contractors necessary to process entrants' participation in the promotion.
  22. Maximum value of each Gastro and Spa Break is £1,240
