Question Who are qualified to join?
Answer
  • All cardholders of eligible Standard/Gold/Titanium/Platinum/World/Premium Debit MasterCard/ Unembossed MasterCard/MasterCard Electronic cards issued by banks in the Philippines.
  • The cardholders’ accounts must be existing and in good standing at the time of the promo and all throughout the redemption period.

Question How to join?
Answer
  • Cardholders must make an overseas purchase/payment and should charge a minimum of USD50 (or any foreign currency equivalent to USD50) in a single receipt, excluding card fees and interests, on their eligible Standard/Gold/Titanium/Platinum/World/Premium Debit MasterCard/Unembossed MasterCard and MasterCard Electronic within the promotion period to get one (1) electronic raffle number entry.
  • Electronic raffle number entries will be randomly assigned to the eligible Standard/Gold/Titanium/Platinum/World/Premium Debit MasterCard/ Unembossed MasterCard and MasterCard Electronic card upon an overseas purchase of an item amounting or equivalent to USD50 or more.

Question How about purchases/transactions done over the internet?
Answer Internet purchases from merchants/establishments abroad charged to eligible Standard/Gold/Titanium/Platinum/World/Premium Debit MasterCard/ Unembossed MasterCard and MasterCard Electronic cards are considered overseas transactions; and are thus qualified for the promotion on the same terms and conditions as in point 2 above.

Question Can consumers accumulate different purchase transactions that are less than US$ 50 to earn a raffle entry?
Answer No. Purchases more than or equal to USD50 (or any foreign currency equivalent to USD50) in a single receipt will be considered for the raffle, broken down per USD50 and will be given the corresponding number of raffle entries. Denominations in excess that is less than USD50 will NOT be eligible for another raffle entry.

Answer Purchases of more than USD50 (or any foreign currency equivalent to USD50) in a single receipt will be broken down per USD50 and will be given the corresponding number of electronic raffle number entries. Denominations in excess that is less than USD50 will NOT be eligible for another raffle entry.

Question Are there any conditions that apply to the prizes that will be given away?
Answer Upon awarding 5 winners of 24 room nights each, the Terms & Conditions of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts shall apply. Please also take note of the following:
  • The winner can avail of 24 room nights in any participating Shangri-La Hotel in Asia, except Boracay: the redemption stay is limited to maximum 2 rooms per stay, and up to 4 nights per room per stay. However, for Shangri-La Boracay, it is limited to a maximum of 4 room nights in the entire duration with the balance of 20 nights in any other participating Shangri-La Hotel in Asia.
  • Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts will indicate the room type for each redemption by the winner.
  • Black-out dates in participating hotels/ resorts apply (please see the attached list of black-out dates).

Question Since raffle entries are electronically generated, how will the winners be determined and verified?
Answer
  • All eligible Standard/Gold/Titanium/Platinum/World/Premium Debit MasterCard/Unembossed MasterCard or MasterCard Electronic cardholders’ purchases abroad and raffle entries will be tracked by MasterCard International Inc. in the USA where the database will be kept until the time of raffle draws.
  • This information is highly confidential and cannot be transferred at anytime to comply with international regulations to avoid fraud, tampering and mishandling of said data. As is the case, cardholders won’t be able to determine the number of raffle entries they have acquired during the promotion period.
  • MasterCard International Philippines Inc. will determine the qualified account numbers from the international database but only then will the data be available for review and verification.
  • From the pool of qualified entries, MasterCard International Philippines, Inc. as witnessed by a DTI representative, will determine the winning participants by manually drawing number combinations using 10 sets of ping-pong balls (each with 10 balls representing 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0) that would correspond to assigned numbers among the entries.
  • MasterCard International Philippines, Inc. will verify the names and addresses of the winners through the Philippine-issuing member banks and advise the winners.

Question How will winners be notified?
Answer Winners will be notified by phone and registered mail, based on the validated cardholder information by the respective issuing MasterCard member bank, and a Winner’s Ad will be published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Question How and where may winners claim their prize

  • Winners may claim/redeem their prizes at MASTERCARD INTERNATIONAL PHILIPPINES, INC., 904 Tower One & Exchange Plaza, Ayala Triangle, Ayala Avenue, Makati City.

    Winners will be given gift certificates for 24 room nights stay which they need to show at the point where they turn up at the Shangri-La Hotel they are staying.

  • Winners must sign the Release, Waiver and Quit Claim Form and present the Official Notification Letter, their winning eligible MasterCard, Premium Debit, Unembossed MasterCard or MasterCard Electronic card, the original SOA or the charge slip (indicating the winning overseas transaction/purchase), their TIN, CTC, and any valid photo-ID.
