Now you make a real difference to the community - because when you use your MasterCard cards on certain purchases, MasterCard will contribute to various charitable causes. We call it Purchase with Purpose, and it's something we're deeply committed to.
In 2012, MasterCard partnered with luxury fashion retailer Club 21 to extend the Purchase with Purpose™ programme across 280 luxury fashion stores in seven countries across Asia. Fashion-lovers enjoyed the Autumn/Winter 2012 collections while giving back to society by using their MasterCard card. Among the programmes supported in this regional collaboration are training and employment opportunities for under-served young adults, and access to education for women and children.

The MasterCard Purpose with Purpose campaign in Taiwan runs from May 1 to June 30, 2010 in conjunction with Mother's Day. The Payatas Women's Project - Philippines
Philippines Payatas is a large, open dumpsite in Quezon City in the Philippines. For years, the women in the Payatas shanty town wove scrap cloth into rugs for sale, earning only a few cents for each. Social entrepreneurship outreach program Rags2Riches recognized the true value of the women's work, helping them create fashion items through collaborations with prominent local designers such as Aranaz Fall.
MasterCard donated US$1 to Rags2Riches for every single receipt purchase of any Aranaz Fall Holiday collection piece made using a MasterCard card between 29 Sept - 31 Dec 2009.
MasterCard and Hôtel de la Paix's 'Pushbike' Initiative - Cambodia
MasterCard's initiative with Hôtel de la Paix raised funds for an amazing 397 bicycles, to help children from Siem Reap's outlying villages get to school. (This would have helped hundreds more, as up to three children often share a bicycle).
Hôtel de la Paix is a luxury hotel in the tourist town. MasterCard donated one bicycle for every room paid for with a MasterCard card between 1 October and 31 December 2008. A great result!
Go Red For Women - Singapore, Hong Kong and South Africa
MasterCard has supported the heart foundations in Singapore, Hong Kong and South Africa in campaigns based on the international Go Red For Women movement, which aims to encourage women to take better care of their own and their families' heart health.
In each instance, beautiful red dresses from the market's top designers were presented, helping raise money for this great cause. Once again, MasterCard shows how close women and fashion are to our heart!
MasterCard was a sponsor and also donated S$2 to UNIFEM for every transaction made with a MasterCard card at the event. Plus, our staff donated their time to work behind the cash registers at the sale. The event garnered UNIFEM over S$85,000.
MasterCard - Great Singapore Sale 'Shop for a Cause' Night - Singapore
