Auckland, August 24, 2009 – MasterCard said today that it had reached an agreement to settle litigation brought against it by the Commerce Commission. Following this agreement, the company said, New Zealand consumers can be confident that they can continue to use their MasterCard cards wherever they see the MasterCard logo displayed. Under the terms of the settlement MasterCard will modify some of its rules as they apply to New Zealand. These rule changes and clarifications include:
