Sara Greensill and Michael Van Prehn from Hamilton will enjoy the first year of married life by taking three honeymoons to three different locations, thanks to the MasterCard Endless Summer promotion. "It was a pretty surreal experience when MasterCard called to say we had won the Grand Prize," says Miss Greensill. "My partner Michael did not believe me for a while; he thought it was a bad prank. I had to ring MasterCard back seven times to make sure it was not a dream." The couple, who are to be married tomorrow in Miss Greensill's hometown of New Plymouth, could not afford a honeymoon straight after the wedding. But thanks to MasterCard they will now be flying to Queensland to enjoy a week on tropical Hayman Island . Their honeymoon will not be ending there, as the once-in-a-lifetime experience will also take them to Hawaii and Tahiti this year. Miss Greensill won the trip simply by using her MasterCard branded card to buy Christmas presents. Each purchase she made automatically gave her an entry in the promotion. Sara and Michael, along with Michael's 15- year-old daughter Georgia, will be able to follow the sun around the world, spending seven days in each destination. The prize includes accommodation, airfares and transfers plus $5,000 (US$3636) spending money on each trip. "The Endless Summer promotion has been a fantastic offering for MasterCard cardholders," said Michelle Pilot, vice president, Marketing, Australasia, MasterCard International. "We are thrilled to give Miss Greensill and her fiancé a wonderful honeymoon, three times in one year." MasterCard cardholders were also encouraged to register their purchases for entries in the second tier draw. Each week during the 11 week promotion, MasterCard gave away weekend breaks for two to Queensland to cardholders who had registered their purchases. Miss Greensill is thrilled to have won the grand prize. "The most exciting thing about the prize is being able to go to hotter places during the colder months. It's going to be a great year." |
