Bass Museum of Art
The Bass Museum of art offers Renaissance and Baroque paintings, sculpture, textiles and Antiques. Experience the Art Deco building designed in 1930 by Russell Pancoast.
Located in Miami Beach, the Bass Museum of Art offers a dynamic year-round calendar of exhibitions exploring the connections between contemporary art and works of art from its permanent collection of Renaissance and Baroque paintings, sculpture, textiles and Antiquities. The Bass Museum houses the only Egyptian Gallery in the State of Florida. A walk-in Creativity Center, artists' projects, educational programs, lectures, concerts and free IDEA@thebass family days serve as educational resources for exhibitions on view. Founded in 1963 when the City of Miami Beach accepted a collection of Renaissance and Baroque works of art from collectors John and Johanna Bass, the Bass Museum of Art was housed in an Art Deco building designed in 1930 by Russell Pancoast which in 2001 annexed an expansion designed by Arata Izosaki. In 2010, Miami Beach's Collins Park, stretching from the museum's front door to the beach, was refurbished and now presents public art and community events presented by the museum.
