Imagine this: The ability to use a multi-functional credit card to complete transfer to non-pre-designated accounts anywhere, anytime, just by simply pushing a few buttons on your mobile phone. At the efforts and dedication of MasterCard, that is now possible! With the new MasterCard innovation that combines financial payment and ATM applications, every ATM machine in town can be your transaction terminal on the go!
The display card launched in 2010 is the first interactive payment credit card on the market. The one-time password (OTP) security technology enabled card boasts state-of-the art security maintenance. By a slight tap of a button on the credit card, the cardholder will see a display screen at the top right corner showing a one-time six-digit password. With this much enhanced level of security and convenience, cardholders can access a wide range of financial services, such as conducting online transactions supported by 3D authentication security and making transfers to non-pre-designated accounts at the touch of the fingertip.
The MasterCard display card also promises a higher level of security and convenience for e-transactions. Cardholders can directly enter their four-digit password and the six-digit OTP appearing on the card into the 3D authentication system for double security to protect their online transactions.
The display card is similar in size to a regular credit card, with the additional screen and display button on the top right corner, which work on a built-in battery and magnetic waves. This innovation combines a microchip and a screen display, which allow the cardholder to have access to financial services including the OTP, account balance inquiry, recent transaction and bonus points, etc. anytime. Information such as sales promotions from the card issuing company can also be displayed on the screen for reference by cardholders anytime, anywhere.
MasterCard had dedicated decades on the research and development of the Display Card and saw the usage and technology reaching maturity in the past year. In 2010, the card was launched in Europe and Taiwan and has received excellent responses from MasterCard cardholders.
