MasterCard PayPass™ contactless credit card boasts services that meet all and every daily need of cardholders.
Continuing the legacy of the first PayPass™ contactless credit card which sparked a market craze when it was launched in 2005, MasterCard is crossing sector again to work with Taiwan Taxi Corporation (Taiwan Taxi) this year, allowing MasterCard PayPass™ cardholders to pay taxi fares easily and efficiently without having to turn their wallets inside out.
An industry leader, MasterCard has been relentless in bringing new services to customers. Spotting the trend as early as in 2005, it astounded the market by introducing the PayPass™ contactless credit card to Taiwan. The MasterCard PayPass™ system then, which integrated the latest technology and lifestyle concept, was a breakthrough from the conventional credit card payment mode. It made history coming in various forms: the PayPass™ key ring, the world's first stereographic soccer credit card, the world's first PayPass™ wristwatch, the first PayPass™ handset in Taiwan and Asia Pacific and the Dongle PayPass™ credit card to commemorate the Taipei International Flora Expo. Such innovations at the forefront of technological development and contemporary lifestyle have given consumers shopping experiences more pleasant and convenient. Today, six years on, MasterCard has found a new partner, Taiwan Taxi, to give MasterCard PayPass™ cardholders enhanced "mobility". It is also an effort of MasterCard to satisfy the demand for efficiency of Taiwan consumers (please refer to the [Chronicle of PayPass™ Event] in Taiwan).
To complement the service kick off, MasterCard announced a special promotion with two offers: MasterCard PayPass™ cardholders will receive a 300g pack of organic rice (only 30,000 packs in stock) for every transaction of NTD1,500 or more on their cards at all Carrefour stores in Taiwan; and, from Taiwan Taxi, for every ride paid for with MasterCard (including PayPass™), the cardholder is entitled to enter a lucky draw to win an Apple 16G WiFi-capable iPad2 (30 units in stock).
