All-in-one Mainland China and Taiwan shopping privileges

In March, Pacific SOGO, a shoppers' favorite with seven stores in Taiwan, and Cathay United Bank (CUB), came together again to launch the Cathay United-Pacific SOGO MasterCard. Targeting to issue 300,000 cards in the first year, the partners hope to capture a notable share of the co-branded shopping card market.

New Platinum and Titanium Cards offer upgraded services

CUB and Pacific SOGO unveiled the new Platinum and Titanium cards on 8 March. The launch was complemented by an across-the-board privilege upgrade of all Pacific SOGO co-branded cards. With a trendy and eye-catching design, the new cards are equipped with EasyCard and MasterCard PayPass™ functions. And at the unveiling it was also announced that the new co-branded card can be used at Pacific SOGO stores in Taiwan as well as mainland China. In other words, the new cards are a co-branded shopping card usable on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

CUB and Pacific SOGO aim to issue 300,000 cards in the first year.

It has been close to 10 years since the bank and Pacific SOGO issued their first co-branded credit card. They have come together again this time to present even higher quality services to consumers. In 2001, when their first co-branded credit card hit the market, as many as 710,000 cards were issued in the first year, which showcased the successful partnership and made credit card history in Taiwan.

CUB and Pacific SOGO have come up with a wide array of tailored privileges to reward loyal Pacific SOGO cardholders, including in-shop gifts, an exclusive 4% shopping rebate and a NT$500 Cash Voucher on first purchase by new cardholders. Furthermore, holders of the generic card can upgrade entitled privileges to Titanium or Platinum level and enjoy yet more pleasurable shopping experiences.
