MasterCard Center was unveiled on 21 January 2011, marking the beginning of a new era for the sports and entertainment industry in Beijing and the commencement of a new era of development for MasterCard in China.

The renaming is another milestone for the rapidly developing sports and entertainment industry in China. It is the first 2008 Olympic stadium and also the first sports arena in Beijing to be rebranded commercially. It represents the coming together of sovereignty and management style, professional international event management and top international sponsors for the first time, to host the best entertainment experiences Beijing can offer.

MasterCard Center was officially unveiled in the presence of government officials, MasterCard customers, business partners and the media. Using the latest projection technology, Mr. Hai Ling, Division President, Greater China, MasterCard Worldwide, thanked business partners and the local government for their support and reaffirmed the long-term commitment of MasterCard to the local community and the Chinese market.

On the same day, top Hong Kong pop singer Jacky Cheung graced the new stage of the Center. The singer, on his World Tour, gave the first of his three performances in Beijing and delighted the audience with his music.

Mr. Ling was keen to highlight that MasterCard Center is dedicated to delivering unique and memorable experiences to MasterCard cardholders, including free tickets to performances, lucky draws, backstage passes and many other priceless moments and privileges. The VIP suites and lounges in the Center are also designed to provide a variety of premium experiences to consumers, cardholders and business partners. MasterCard will work with local merchants on special offers in dining, shopping, leisure and entertainment for inbound MasterCard travelers. The Center is an important part of MasterCard's endeavor to build Beijing into a world famous "Priceless City".

Also pledging support for the renaming, Ms. Zhao Yan, General Manager of Bloomage International Investment Group and John Cappo, President and Chief Executive Officer of AEG China, shared their hopes of working with MasterCard and other business partners to give audiences world-class events and priceless experiences at the Center.

International stars including Kobe Bryant and Usher, who could not be there in person, wished the Center best wishes via live video links and said they are looking forward to coming to the Center for matches and performances in the future.

So far, top entertainers including Faye Wong, Jacky Cheung Fei Yuching, Sandy Lam, Aaron Kwok, Eagles, Usher, and Rain have performed at the newly named MasterCard Center. MasterCard Center has also hosted the NBA China Games, the CBA All-Star Games, and table tennis and badminton matches. In the next five years, at least 200 events are expected to be held there.

With 18,000 seats, the Center is a venue where MasterCard cardholders can expect to enjoy many priceless moments and experiences. MasterCard is not only the first international payment organization to set foot in the Chinese market, but is also the first organization to put its name on an iconic sports and entertainment center in the country. This is testament to MasterCard's commitment to China and to bringing "priceless" experiences to consumers.
