Ticket sales

Ticket Sales through the Internet (www.euro2004.com) will be in place until the end of the Tournament (or as long as there are tickets available).

Payment of the tickets can take place by credit card. UEFA EURO 2004TM recommends the use of MasterCard (Official Card of UEFA EURO 2004TM). Payment takes place real time. After the online ticket sales have taken place, the tickets must be collected at the Ticket Booth of the Stadium where the Match is being played. Tickets can be collected from 24 hours after the time of purchasing the tickets through www.euro2004.com. Tickets can be collected as per 2nd June until the day before the Match. After that no ticket collections are allowed.

When ordering the tickets, the supporter will receive an online Confirmation Form including a Ticket Order Number. The customer needs to print this Confirmation Form and bring it together with his ID and his credit card when collecting the tickets.

In addition, any remaining tickets will also be available directly at the ticket booths of the Stadia. All ticket booths will be open 7 days a week from 09.00 to 18.00 from 2nd June. On Match days the Ticket Booths are closed!

Ticketing Terms and Conditions

A. Introduction

1. Scope
The following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") are designed to ensure a fair, correct and efficient functioning of the purchase process relating to the tickets for UEFA EURO 2004™. The sale and use of such tickets are subject to the following Terms and Conditions and any other applicable laws or regulations.

2. Definitions
Applicant: means any individual with legal capacity to contract applying for Ticket(s) for UEFA EURO 2004™ Matches in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Application Form: means the official and original form to be submitted by an Applicant in order to be considered for Tickets.
Euro 2004, S.A.: means the company responsible for implementing the organisation of UEFA EURO 2004™ in Portugal (including the issuance of Tickets) with offices at Avenida da República 53, 1050-188 Lisboa, Portugal.
FPF: means the Portuguese Football Federation with offices at Praça da Alegria 25, CP 21100, 1250-004 Lisboa, Portugal. Follow My Team Tickets: means a package of Tickets for all Matches played by a selected team in UEFA EURO 2004™ as far as the selected team progresses.
Guest(s): means relatives, close friends, colleagues and/or the companion to individuals in wheelchairs for whom the Applicant may be applying and to whom Tickets may be transferred in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Match(es): means a match to be played as part of UEFA EURO 2004™.
Notification: means the notification provided by Euro 2004, S.A., confirming or rejecting the allocation of Tickets.
Stadium: means the entire premises of the stadium inside the fence and other areas which require a Ticket to gain access, as well as the immediate vicinity of such areas.
Ticket(s): means a ticket giving right of entrance to a particular Match in accordance with the information stated thereon.
Ticket Holder: means any individual holding a Ticket, including without limitation Applicants and Guests.
UEFA: means the Union des Associations Européennes de Football with offices at Route de Genève 46, 1260 Nyon, Switzerland.
UEFA EURO 2004™: means the final tournament of the UEFA European Football Championship™ that will be held in Portugal in 2004.

B. Sale of tickets

3. Options
3.1 The Applicant will have the option of choosing between 2 different means by which Tickets for UEFA EURO 2004™ can be obtained. The first option entitles the Applicant to apply for individual Matches. The second option (Follow My Team Tickets) entitles the Applicant to follow all Matches played by a selected team in UEFA EURO 2004™.
3.2 Application Forms for both options will not be considered.

4. Applications
4.1 Application Forms will be issued by Euro 2004, S.A., in both paper format and via Internet. Application Forms for Follow My Team Tickets will be issued via Internet only. Paper Application Forms should be returned to Euro 2004, S.A., in order to be processed and Internet Application Forms should be submitted electronically. Only Application Forms that are fully completed by the Applicant will be processed. Application Forms with insufficient postage or which are incomplete, unclear or damaged shall be rejected.
4.2 Applicants can make a request for up to 4 Tickets per Match per day but cannot, in any event, make a Ticket request for 2 Matches on the same day. In the event that there are applications for more than 4 Tickets per Match per day or multiple applications for the same Match made by the same Applicant, all applications shall be rejected.
4.3 Applicants must indicate the price category of the Tickets required for each Match and may only apply for one price category per Match. Applicants may be allocated Tickets in lower or higher price categories than those requested provided that the Applicant has duly indicated his/her consent to such possibility on the Application Form.
4.4 Applicants are aware that (a) Tickets are not guaranteed for the Matches requested and (b) seats may not be allocated together in the same section of the Stadium.
4.5 Euro 2004, S.A., is not liable for incorrect entry of information, technical malfunctions of the Internet, failure of computer hardware or software, or lost, incomplete or illegible applications.
4.6 Applicants who use the Internet for submitting their Application Forms shall represent that they have understood, agreed with and will conform to, UEFA's statement on privacy and the terms and conditions that can be found on UEFA's website (http://www.euro2004.com).

5. Allocation
5.1 Pre-lottery sales phase: Application Forms received by Euro 2004, S.A., no later than midnight on 16th June 2003 (Portuguese local time) will be assessed, after which the pre-lottery sales phase will be closed and any Application Forms received will not be processed. If demand exceeds supply for a particular Match and/or category for a Match, all Tickets for that Match and/or category shall be allocated by random selection via a lottery. Applicants will be notified by 31 July 2003, unless otherwise informed, of the result of their application.
5.2 Post-lottery sales phase: in the event that there are any Tickets available after the pre-lottery sales phase, sales will be re-opened at a date to be announced in due course and Application Forms received by Euro 2004, S.A., after such date will be assessed and Tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Applicants will be notified of the result of their application within 3 months.
5.3 A limited number of wheelchair seating Tickets (category 3) shall be available only for those who are unable to attend a Match without a wheelchair due to their physical handicap. An additional complimentary ticket will be provided for an accompanying person. If demand exceeds supply for wheelchair seating Tickets at a particular Match, all such Tickets for that Match shall be allocated by random selection via a lottery.
5.4 1,000 Tickets will be set aside for Applicants who elect to pay for Tickets with the official credit card of UEFA EURO 2004™.
5.5 Successful Applicants are entitled to renounce their allocated Tickets by written notice to Euro 2004, S.A., within 14 days of receipt or deemed receipt of the Notification. In no event can an Applicant request alternative dates or Matches.
5.6 All sales are final upon payment. Ticket Holders cannot elect to return or exchange Tickets for which a payment has been made without the prior written approval of Euro 2004, S.A. Refunds will be issued with respect to Follow My Team Tickets for teams that fail to qualify for UEFA EURO 2004™ or for teams that are eliminated before the final Match of UEFA EURO 2004™. Failure to perform payment shall entitle Euro 2004, S.A., to cancel the allocated tickets and reallocate them to another Applicant.

6. Payment and distribution – Tickets for individual Matches
6.1 Successful Applicants must pay the amount due to Euro 2004, S.A., for the purchase of the Tickets allocated in the manner selected on the Application Form and in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Notification. Dates for such payment will be set out in the Notification. The following Credit Cards are accepted: MasterCard (the Official Card of UEFA EURO 2004TM), American Express, Diners and Visa.
6.2 The total amount due shall include an administrative charge calculated on the total value of the Tickets allocated, which shall be 5% for Portuguese residents (with a maximum of 10) and 10% for non-Portuguese residents (with a maximum of €18).
6.3 Tickets will be issued and distributed no later than 2 weeks prior to UEFA EURO 2004™ to the address stated on the Application Form (or to a different address notified in writing (e-mail excluded) to Euro 2004, S.A., prior to 1 March 2004) provided that timely and complete payment has been received in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Notification. Duplicate Tickets will not be issued for any reason whatsoever. In any event, Euro 2004, S.A., shall not be held liable for any Ticket loss or late delivery caused by malfunction or interruption of mail services.
6.4 UPON REQUEST, APPLICANTS SHALL PROVIDE FULL DETAILS INCLUDING NAME AND ADDRESS OF THEIR GUESTS TO EURO 2004, S.A. IN THE EVENT THAT APPLICANTS REFUSE TO PROVIDE SUCH DETAILS UPON REQUEST, EURO 2004, S.A., RESERVES THE RIGHT TO THEREAFTER REJECT THE ALLOCATION OF THE RELEVANT TICKETS OR, IF NECESSARY, REFUSE ENTRANCE TO THE STADIUM OF THE ENTIRE PARTY (APPLICANT AND GUESTS) WITH NO RIGHT TO REFUND AND THE RELEVANT TICKET(S) WILL BE CANCELLED. APPLICANTS SHALL BE FULLY AND UNCONDITIONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT GUESTS ARE AWARE OF, AGREE TO AND COMPLY WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IN PARTICULAR, APPLICANTS ARE OBLIGED TO PASS ON TO THEIR GUESTS A COPY OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

7. Payment and distribution – Follow My Team Tickets
7.1 Successful Applicants must pay the entire amount (with the exception of the opening Match premium as set out in Article 7.3) due to Euro 2004, S.A., for the purchase of the Follow My Team Tickets allocated in the manner selected on the Application Form and in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Notification. Dates for such payment will be set out in the Notification. The following Credit Cards are accepted: MasterCard (the Official Card of UEFA EURO 2004TM), American Express, Diners and Visa.
7.2 The total amount due shall include a service fee of 10% on the total value of the Follow My Team Tickets allocated.
(a) If the selected team does not qualify for UEFA EURO 2004™, 50% of such service fee will be reimbursed together with the sum of the face values of Tickets for the Matches concerned.
(b) If the selected team qualifies for UEFA EURO 2004™, the service fee will not be reimbursed. However, if the selected team does not progress to all stages of UEFA EURO 2004™, the Follow My Team Ticket Holder will lose his/her right of entrance to the Match(es) for the stages following elimination and will be entitled to reimbursement for an amount equal to the face value of the remaining invalid Tickets.
7.3 Applicants acknowledge that the face value of Tickets for the opening Match is higher than the face value of Tickets for the other group Matches. Therefore, successful Applicants for Follow My Team Tickets whose selected team plays in the opening Match (which shall include Portugal as the host country) will be charged a supplementary amount in December 2003 to cover the premium for the opening Match.
7.4 Follow My Team Tickets for the group Matches will be issued and distributed no later than 2 weeks prior to UEFA EURO 2004™ to the address stated on the Application Form for Follow My Team Tickets (or to a different address notified in writing (e-mail excluded) to Euro 2004, S.A., prior to 1 March 2004) provided that timely and complete payment (including for the opening Match premium if applicable) has been received. Duplicate Tickets will not be issued for any reason. Follow My Team Tickets for the knockout phase (quarter-finals, semi-finals and final) will be delivered in accordance with the instructions issued by Euro 2004, S.A., in due course. In any event, Euro 2004, S.A., shall not be held liable for any ticket loss or late delivery caused by malfunction or interruption of mail services.
7.5 UPON REQUEST, THE APPLICANT SHALL PROVIDE FULL DETAILS INCLUDING NAME AND ADDRESS OF THEIR GUESTS TO EURO 2004, S.A. IN THE EVENT THAT APPLICANTS REFUSE TO PROVIDE SUCH DETAILS UPON REQUEST, EURO 2004, S.A., RESERVES THE RIGHT TO THEREAFTER REJECT THE ALLOCATION OF THE RELEVANT TICKETS OR, IF NECESSARY, REFUSE ENTRANCE TO THE STADIUM OF THE ENTIRE PARTY (APPLICANT AND GUESTS) WITH NO RIGHT TO REFUND AND THE RELEVANT TICKET(S) WILL BE CANCELLED. APPLICANTS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT GUESTS ARE AWARE OF, AGREE TO AND COMPLY WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IN PARTICULAR, APPLICANTS ARE OBLIGED TO PASS ON TO THEIR GUESTS A COPY OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

C. Use of tickets

8. Entrance
8.1 Entrance to a Stadium shall only be authorised upon presentation of a valid Ticket per person (regardless of age) and, upon request, proof of identity with valid photograph and signature. Ticket Holders must comply with the security provisions set out in Article 9 as well as any applicable safety and security regulations in order to remain in the Stadium. Ticket Holders leaving the Stadium shall not be re-admitted.
8.2 Any person attending a Match acknowledges that his/her movement in and around the Stadium is at his/her own risk and that Euro 2004, S.A., or any other relevant body cannot be held liable for any risk, danger and loss, including bodily harm, personal property damage or loss, or any other incident arising from attendance at the Stadium whether occurring before, during or after the Match, with the exception of incidents arising from gross negligence and/or wilful misconduct.
8.3 Entrance to the Stadium will be refused to any person noticeably under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or any behaviour-modifying substance, or to any person behaving or likely to behave violently, harmfully or contrary to public order. Ticket Holders agree to submit to any control tests in accordance with any applicable law. For the purpose of this Article, a person will be considered under the influence of alcohol if he/she has an alcohol level in excess of 1.2 g/l.
8.4 Any person at the Stadium is strictly prohibited from using, possessing or holding promotional or commercial objects and materials, offering to sell, selling or possessing goods with intent to sell such as drinks, food, souvenirs, clothes, promotional and/or commercial items. All such items may be removed or temporarily confiscated by stewards and/or any other legally authorised persons.
8.5 All Tickets remain the property of Euro 2004, S.A. and, except as set out in Article 9.4, are not transferable. In the event of a breach of any of these Terms and Conditions, Tickets shall, upon request of Euro 2004, S.A. be delivered up to Euro 2004, S.A.

9. Safety and security
9.1 For the purpose of safety and security all persons attending the Match shall, if requested by stewards, safety personnel, and/or any other legally authorised persons, co-operate by: (a) producing a valid Ticket and proof of identity with valid photograph and signature; (b) submitting to inspections, body checks and removal of unauthorised objects; and (c) complying with the instructions and guidelines of such personnel.
9.2 It is forbidden to use, possess, hold or bring the following items, without limitation, into the Stadium to be assessed at the discretion of the stewards, safety personnel, and/or any other legally authorised persons:
– All weapons, regardless of type, and all objects that can be used as such; – All objects, materials or substances likely to pose a threat to safety, public order, or to disrupt the process of the Match, or cause damage to persons or goods; – Projectiles of any kind such as bolts, pieces of wood or metal, stone, glass, cans, bottles (whether filled with combustible substances or not), etc.; – Flammable or explosive substances, liquids and gasses, fireworks of any kind; – Alcoholic drinks, narcotics or stimulants; – Banners or other signs bearing offensive, malicious, provocative, political, ideological or religious texts or messages as well as commercial/promotional materials; – Flags, flagpoles, banners, badges, headgear, inflatable items, or symbols likely to disrupt order and safety or to impair visibility of other spectators; – Animals; – Promotional and commercial objects and materials of whatever nature, including but not limited to documents, leaflets, badges, signs, symbols, banners and headgear; – Other objects identified by the stewards, safety personnel and/or any other duly authorised persons, which may affect security and/or the reputation of UEFA EURO 2004™.
9.3 It is forbidden, without limitation, to: – Conduct any promotional or commercial activity, without the prior written approval of Euro 2004, S.A.; – Throw, cast, thrust or fire one or more objects; – Act in a violent way, instigating to violence, racism or xenophobia or behave in a way that others may interpret as provocative, threatening, discriminatory, or offensive; – Express national, political, religious, ethnic and/or racial ideas or pursuits; – Create any threat to the life or safety of himself or others, or harm another person in any way whatsoever; – Climb lighting masts, fences, roofs, dug-outs and other apparatus or constructions, or stand on seats; – Stand on the pitch or area around the pitch at any time; – Circulate between different sectors where not permitted; – Damage persons or goods at any time; – Access restricted areas or areas closed to the public or enter or leave the Stadium at places laid aside for an easy exit in the event of danger, such as entrances, stairs, landings, etc.
9.4 APPLICANTS SHALL RETAIN 1 TICKET FOR PERSONAL USE AND SHALL TRANSFER, FOR NO GREATER THAN THE FACE VALUE AND THE PRO-RATED ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGE, THE REMAINING TICKETS TO GUESTS FOR THEIR PERSONAL USE. SUBJECT TO THE ABOVE, NEITHER APPLICANTS NOR GUESTS MAY SELL, OFFER FOR SALE, RESELL OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER THEIR PERSONAL TICKET WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF EURO 2004, S.A.
9.5 TICKETS MAY NOT BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES SUCH AS WITHOUT LIMITATION FOR PROMOTION, ADVERTISING, USE AS A PRIZE IN A COMPETITION OR SWEEPSTAKE, OR AS PART OF A TRAVEL PACKAGE (FOR EXAMPLE COMBINING FLIGHTS, HOTEL AND TICKETS) WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF EURO 2004, S.A.

10. Sound and image recordings
10.1 Any person attending a Match acknowledges that it is a public event and thus agrees that use may be made, free of charge, of his/her voice, image and likeness by means of live or recorded video display, broadcast or other transmission or recording, photographs or any other current and/or future media technologies.
10.2 Any person attending a Match shall not record and/or transmit any sound, image and/or description of the Stadium or the Match (as well as any result and/or statistics of the Match) other than for private use. In any event, it is strictly forbidden to disseminate over the Internet, radio, television or any other current and/or future media, any sound, image, description, or result and/or statistics of the Match in whole or in part, or assist any other person(s) conducting such activities.

D. Miscellaneous

11. Non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions
11.1 Any Ticket Holders whose actions are inconsistent with, or whose Tickets have not been obtained in accordance with, these Terms and Conditions will be refused entry to the Stadium or expelled from the Stadium with no right to refund and the relevant Ticket(s) will be cancelled. Ticket Holders shall be obliged, upon request, to give an explanation as to how, from whom and from where their Tickets have been obtained.
11.2 In the event that it appears that either the Applicant or any of the Guests have not conformed to these Terms and Conditions, the entire party (Applicant and Guests) will be refused entry to the Stadium or expelled from the Stadium with no right to refund and the relevant Ticket(s) will be cancelled.
11.3 Euro 2004, S.A., reserves the right to pursue other legal remedies at its own discretion.

12. Indemnification
Applicants and Guests are responsible for the use of all Tickets allocated to them following receipt of the Notification and shall indemnify and hold Euro 2004, S.A., UEFA and/or FPF harmless from and against all damages and liabilities suffered or incurred in connection with, resulting from or arising out of a breach of these Terms and Conditions.

13. Unauthorised spectators
Individuals banned from attending football matches by competent authorities or sports governing bodies are prohibited from receiving Tickets, or from entering or remaining in the Stadium whereupon the relevant Ticket(s) will be cancelled with no right to refund.

14. Data
Applicants acknowledge and agree that the personal data contained in the Application Form is collected by EURO 2004, S.A., as agent acting for and on behalf of UEFA in this particular respect and will be entered into a database owned by UEFA and that UEFA may transfer such data to third parties. Applicants agree that such personal data will be used primarily in connection with the Ticket sales and/or any relevant safety and security measures. Furthermore, provided that consent has been specifically given by Applicants in the Application Form, personal data can be used in order to provide Applicants with information on products and services of UEFA or other companies which have been carefully selected by UEFA, as well as in connection with future commercial activities or other UEFA events.

15. Unforeseen circumstances
15.1 Euro 2004, S.A., reserves the right to make alterations to the times, dates and places of the Matches under unforeseen circumstances, including without limitation, force majeure, safety and security concerns or decisions from UEFA or any other competent authority.
15.2 In the event that any Matches are cancelled, an adequate and proportionate refund/compensation process may be set up by Euro 2004, S.A., in its entire discretion depending on the circumstances.

16. Information

17. Severability and amendments
17.1 In the event that any provision(s) of these Terms and Conditions be declared void, ineffective or unenforceable by any competent court, the remainder of these Terms and Conditions shall remain in effect as if such void, ineffective or unenforceable provision(s) had not been contained.
17.2 Euro 2004, S.A., reserves the right to make reasonable amendments to these Terms and Conditions from time to time, which updated version shall be available on http://www.euro2004.com and, upon request, from Euro 2004, S.A., at the address set out in Article 16.

18. Authentic text
These Terms and Conditions have been drafted in English and translated into other languages (including Portuguese, French, German, Spanish and Italian) and are available on http://www.euro2004.com and, upon request, from Euro 2004, S.A., at the address set out in Article 16. The Applicant acknowledges and agrees that he/she has read and understood these Terms and Conditions and that he/she is fully aware of the rights and obligations arising therefrom. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and translated texts, the English text shall be used to solve doubts of interpretation and application.

19. Applicable law and jurisdiction
19.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the substantive laws of Portugal.
19.2 All disputes arising from or related to these Terms and Conditions shall be submitted to the competent court in Lisboa, Portugal. Nevertheless, Euro 2004, S.A., reserves the right to pursue any legal proceedings in the competent courts at the defendant's domicile.
