Traditionally, the "chanfana" or "negalhos" and boiled octopus or the "Tibornada com Batatas a Murro" are served in Easter and Christmas respectively. But one of Coimbra 's most typical dishes is lampern with rice. Then, there is a variety of delicious mouth-watering sweet food like the "arrufadas" (buns), the "velhoses", "bolinhos bolinhós", sweet rice, "sopa dourada", a recipe from the nuns of Santa Clara, the "pudim de ovos" (egg pudding) and the egg lampern.
