MasterCard Sweepstakes Privacy Disclosure
We are committed to protecting your rights to
privacy. The following describes how the information, including personal information, we
obtain from you in connection with the Sweepstakes will be treated and your rights to limit
our use of that information. We are accountable for the collection, sharing and use of personal
information we obtain from you in connection with your participation in the Sweepstakes.
The contest is being administered, on behalf of MasterCard, by Armstrong Partnership Limited.
We have designated MasterCard’s Privacy Counsel to be accountable for compliance with
these responsibilities.
You may give us, and any participating Sweepstakes
partner we identify, permission to send or make available to you special offers, including
sending them to your e-mail address. Otherwise we will collect and use your personal information
solely in connection with the Sweepstakes.
By entering information on the Sweepstakes registration
page, you consent to the use of your personal information to administer, implement and fulfill
the Sweepstakes (e.g., selecting and notifying winners). If you permit us to send you or
make available special offers, you also consent to our use of your personal information
in connection with those offers. In certain limited circumstances consistent with law and
regulation (e.g., legal, medical, or security reasons) your personal information can be
collected, used, or disclosed without your knowledge or consent.
We collect personal information by fair and
lawfully permitted means and we limit the collection and use of personal information to
that which is necessary for the identified purposes. We will not use or disclose personal
information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with your consent
or as required by law and will retain personal information only as long as necessary to
fulfill those purposes or as required by law. We may retain other companies to help us promote,
implement and administer the Sweepstakes and also to assist us in making available any special
offers you have agreed to allow us to make available to you. We will provide these companies
only the information needed to perform their obligations and they will be prohibited from
using the information for any other purpose. Personal information that is no longer necessary
or relevant for the identified purposes or required to be retained by law will be destroyed,
erased or made anonymous or unidentifiable. We will maintain reasonable and systematic controls,
schedules and practices for the retention and destruction of information, consistent with
these principles.
We will make every effort to ensure that the
personal information we obtain from you, will be maintained accurately and completely, as
up-to-date as necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used. We will also take appropriate
security measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized
access or disclosure, improper use, alteration or destruction. When we disclose or provide
your personal information to a third party as permitted by these principles, we will require
them, by agreement, instruction or otherwise, to comply with the requirements that are embodied
in these principles.
We have tried to make these principles and practices
relating to the management of your personal information, easily available and understandable
to you, to our employees and to any other party permitted to obtain or use this information.
If you feel we have not complied with these principles or practices, you may request that
we correct or remedy such non-compliance and we will respond to your complaint promptly
once we have had an opportunity to complete our investigation. The contact information for
