Bobby Orr and Cassie Campbell Score at the
MasterCard Three Stars Bubble Hockey Tournament
TORONTO (April 23, 2003) – Hockey action moved off the ice and into a bubble as Toronto hockey fans participated in the MasterCard Three Stars Tournament – a bubble hockey competition that took place in the TD Centre Concourse this week.
The action hit a fever pitch when two lucky tournament entrants, Joe Tari and Rick Clarfield went head-to-head with hockey legend Bobby Orr and Olympic gold medallist Cassie Campbell in a series of bubble hockey exhibitions. In a uniquely Canadian take on the battle of the sexes, Bobby and Cassie also faced off in the Battle in the Bubble – a one game exhibition.
The Three Stars Tournament and Battle in the Bubble were part of an ongoing promotion MasterCard Canada ran in the TD Centre Concourse on Tuesday and Wednesday. On-site was a Power Playroom: a hockey lover’s ultimate play pen that includes leather armchairs, a 51" wide screen projection television, hockey memorabilia and of course, a hockey table.
