What you need to know when applying for a Credit Card?

Every financial institution has different policies and processes for issuing credit cards, but you will need to be at least 18 years of age and earning an income *. You may not need to have an account with the financial institution to apply for a credit card with them.

When processing your application, the financial institution will endeavour to assess your capital (the amount of assets you own), your capacity to make credit repayments, and your history in managing financial repayments.

The information you will be asked to supply will usually include your:

banking details
employment details
driver's license number
details of other credit cards you may hold
whether you're buying or renting your home

You can apply for credit cards in several ways: some applications are available on this site and some financial institutions offer online applications at their website.
