Little Birdy Bio

Originating from Perth, Little Birdy is fronted by Katy Steele. Her vocal range, songwriting, and sartorial splendour have attracted favourable comparisons to PJ Harvey and Chrissie Hynde. UK style bible "The Face" called Katy "a prodigy" and described the band as "Lucinda Williams meets Kate Bush via Beck". Katy, guitarist Simon, bassist Scott 'Barney' O'Donoghue and drummer Matt Chequer have honed their unique sound since their inception in 2003.

Cut to 2009 with two acclaimed, gold-certified albums under their wings, Little Birdy have released their new album, Confetti, to much acclaim. The album has spent a number of weeks at the top end of the charts and has received the strongest reviews of the band's career.

Hailed as one of Australia's finest pop bands Little Birdy have toured the globe and also played coverted slots on Australia's most prominent music festivals including Big Day Out, Homebake and Splendour. The band completed a national sold out tour mid year and the guys and gal are currently working their way around the country on a national theatre tour. Receiving rave reviews wherever they play Little Birdy's show is one not to be missed.
