Young Golfers win MasterCard Junior Masters golf tournament against cream of local and international talent

Sydney, 4 June 2007 - Jason Scrivener from Western Australia and Stephanie Na from South Australia have shown their golfing excellence in taking the first prizes at the fourth annual MasterCard Junior Masters golf tournament at The Vines Resort and Country Club in Perth. The two rising stars triumphed over a field of 96 top class junior golfers to win a golden opportunity to compete with their golfing heroes in professional tournaments later this year.

Jason will compete in the MasterCard Masters golf tournament at Huntingdale Golf Club in November this year while Stephanie will play in the ANZ Ladies Masters in 2008.

Jason Scrivener jumped out of the gates early carding a Round 1 score of 65. Although a contender moved up the leaderboard to test his endurance, Jason held on tight to his lead and sailed home winning the tournament 6 strokes ahead of the rest of the pack on a final score of 8 under. Stephanie Na showed her brilliance in Round 2 with an impressive 66 to take a joint lead into the final 2 rounds. Stephanie was unchallenged from this point forward grasping the 2007 title with an impressive final score of 5 under. Both players showed brilliance and determination on a tough course, to overcome some of the best young golfers from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
