MasterCard Wins Gold in Three Categories Including Best Value Credit Card for 2007

Sydney, 22 December 2007 - MasterCard dominated this year’s Best of the Best 2007, Money Magazine Awards.

In the prestigious, sixth annual, Money Magazine Awards, MasterCard took the honours in three credit card categories, including first place for the 'Cheapest Credit Card', the 'Best Transactor Credit Card' and the 'Cheapest Balance Transfer Credit Card, Repaid in Three Years'.

The St George Vertigo MasterCard card won the 'Cheapest Credit Card' and the 'Cheapest Balance Transfer Credit Card, Repaid in Three Years', while the BankWest Zero MasterCard card was awarded 'Best Transactor Credit Card'.

"We are thrilled that MasterCard products have been acknowledged as the best in the market, illustrating MasterCard's commitment to working with Australian financial institutions to develop innovative new products that meet consumers’ needs," said Leigh Clapham, executive vice president, Australasia, MasterCard Worldwide.

"These wins for our credit card products come at a time when MasterCard is also leading the way in other payments fields, having recently launched two new pre-paid cards, the Westpac MasterCard Gift Card and the Commonwealth Bank Travellers Cash card," Clapham added.

The awards are judged on the value and benefit delivered from a customer's perspective and emphasise MasterCard’s continued delivery of value for money payment options.

"MasterCard is committed to delivering value in all areas of commerce and these awards highlight the value that our products provide Australian consumers," continued Clapham.
