"Congratulations to Australia for qualifying for the World Cup, for the first time since 1974," said the King of soccer himself – Pelé - in Australia today to launch the MasterCard ‘Follow Your Team’ World Cup promotion.

"The more support Australia can receive in Germany the better, so I am calling on Aussies to use their MasterCard cards between now and the end of April to stand a chance to win a trip and tickets to all the Australian matches in Germany”, continued Pelé

MasterCard cardholders who register to enter the ‘Follow Your Team’ promotion, will be automatically entered into the competition every time they use their MasterCard cards between 1 March and 30 April. The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to Munich and tickets for every match played by the Australian team, as well as access to VIP pre- and post-match events.
In addition, the winner will receive flights and accommodation, access to exclusive FIFA World Cup related events and Euro 2,000 on their MasterCard and to fund his/her celebrations!

In addition to the grand prize, 10 other lucky cardholders will win one of 10 Football House Parties which consists of a Philips 42” LCD TV (RRP $7,999), an Australian Team Supporter’s Pack, plus $1,000 to put on the best supporters party so they can still support the team in style.

Leigh Clapham, regional general manager, MasterCard Worldwide welcomed Pelé to Australia, the second time he has visited here as a spokesperson for MasterCard Worldwide.
